Veeder-Root ORVR Hanging Hardware
ORVR Compliance Made Simple
The 2007 Texas ORVR compliance deadline has arrived.
Now there is a quick and affordable solution that does not require removing or replacing existing stage-II vacuum pumps or piping.
Veeder-Root’s new On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR) Hanging Hardware System is designed to detect ORVR vehicles and prevent air ingestion that leads to vaporized product. You can save thousands of dollars a year in vaporized product loss reduction – and convert your stations to ORVR compliance simply by swapping the hanging hardware.
Features & Benefits
■ Certified by the State of Texas with both Gilbarco VaporVac® and Dresser Wayne, WayneVac system dispensers.
■ Installs in minutes without expensive vacuum pump removal or replacement
■ Reduces vaporized product losses and emissions
■ Detects ORVR vehicles and works with non-ORVR vehicles also
■ Includes breakaway, whip hose and optional flow limiter
Today’s assist stage-II vapor recovery systems are incompatible with new vehicles equipped with ORVR systems. When an ORVR vehicle fuels at a service station, vapors are contained at the vehicle in an onboard canister instead of being pushed out the vehicle tank where they would traditionally have been captured by the stage-II system vacuum.
As a result, air is ingested into the storage tanks which causes product to evaporate and be pushed out of the vent stacks. Aside from the financial losses that occur by operating a station with a non-ORVR compliant stage-II system, there are also substantial environmental impacts. As such, Texas state legislation requires all existing stage-II installations to be ORVR compatible by April 1, 2007 in order to prevent harmful gasoline vapors from being released into the atmosphere.
This incompatibility and the resulting vaporized product loss can cause a station owner thousands of dollars a year. Statistics show that 40% to 50% of U.S. vehicles on the road are currently ORVR equipped. This percentage and resulting vaporized product losses will continue to grow.
The Solution
Veeder-Root’s new ORVR Hanging Hardware System helps to eliminate vaporized product loss and bring stations into ORVR compliance – without removing or replacing existing stage-II vacuum pumps. The system is designed to detect ORVR vehicles and substantially limit air ingestion during the fueling. This results in a vacuum in the underground storage tank that helps prevent vaporized product from escaping into the atmosphere.
The ORVR Hanging Hardware System Includes:
■ ORVR nozzle with a special mini-boot technology that allows the nozzle to seal to a vehicle’s fill pipe
■ ORVR hose with a mechanical sensor and valve technology that detects an ORVR vehicle and substantially limits air ingestion during fueling while allowing for proper vapor collection on traditional non-ORVR vehicles
■ Includes breakaway, whip hose and optional flow limiter.
